It is my main aspiration to go beyond what I know and what I can know.

Eva Hesse

One immediately believes the self-confident seriousness of this artist, who died very young. To go beyond one’s own knowledge may drive all committed people. But the possibility of transcending knowledge beyond all efforts and educational processes is hardly imaginable – but can drive the radicality of the work beyond itself, perhaps explode it. Shouldn’t this be the “main aspiration” of all art and reflection?
