Mankind invented the atomic bomb, but no mouse would ever construct a mousetrap.

Sounds tremendously plausible and not only proves the equally stupid and ingenious superiority of humans over mice (and all other living creatures), but also of Einstein’s – let’s call it: opportunism or late insight. After all, Einstein himself, together with others, called for the urgent development of the atomic bomb. Admittedly under very specific political circumstances and as a demand to the US government to expedite the construction of the atomic bomb in order to counteract the Nazis. Still, the ambivalence remains.
